Connecting Logan & the surrounding community with high-quality health care.

The new standard in specialist healthcare facilities in South East Queensland.

Meadowbrook Specialist Health Centre features up to 6,000 square metres of state-of-the-art medical consulting rooms and procedural facilities designed to service the growth in demand for specialist health services in Logan and the surrounding area.

Designed in consultation with leading physicians, clinicians and health professionals, the Centre blends organic finishes with generous floor plans and warming natural light for a refreshing take on healthcare.

THE PROPERTY

A golden opportunity for a better healthcare environment.

With a $460m expansion of the adjacent Logan Public Hospital in progress, the Meadowbrook Specialist Health Centre is ideally positioned to meet the need for a broad range of specialists.

Targeting some of the projected gaps in current and future public health services — including chronic disease assessment and treatment — the Centre will be developed to provide a continuum of specialist care services.

The detailed planning and fit-out will be guided by health service planning best practice, and developed with preferred health partners to deliver specific requirements.

Planned with integrated service delivery in mind, the facility will accommodate a range of different health and well-being specialists and practitioners under a variety of tenancy options.

 LOCATION

Expanding a vital health & knowledge precinct in Meadowbrook.

Meadowbrook has become the major health centre for one of the fastest growing regions in Queensland and is a key locality for investment in health care services.

Meadowbrook is also Logan’s health, knowledge and wellbeing precinct, which is centred on the Logan Hospital, Griffith University Logan Campus and TAFE Loganlea campus. Multiple sites in surrounding areas have been identified for future hospital and healthcare services.

Logan Public Hospital is set to receive a $460m expansion to meet current demand –– yet it will not meet all health service requirements.

Meadowbrook Specialist Health Centre is located just 200m from Logan Hospital, making access easy for public hospital consultants to develop their private practices.

ABOUT THE AREA

Why the Logan area is ready for medical specialists

In 2018, the Logan City Council prepared a Business Case for Health and Medical Investment. The Business Case demonstrated there is significant demand for health services that is not being met by existing infrastructure.

  • Logan has a young and rapidly growing population with higher than average birth rates

  • Current population of over 320,000 expected to increase to over 500,000 by 2035

  • Logan annual population growth rate of 2.2% (QLD annual population growth rate 1.7%)

  • Population median age of 34 years, with 20% aged 0-14 years

  • High population growth rate for 70+ years age group by 2026

  • Increasing demand for healthcare driven by rapid population growth, ageing and culturally diverse population along with high levels of social disadvantage

  • Public hospital utilisation for some services is higher than the state average

  • Higher rates of disability and death from a range of preventable diseases

  • There is no Private Hospital in Logan City, yet 36% of the residents have Private Health insurance
